Fall Club and Board of Directors Meeting will be Tuesday October 23 at the UNCC Track Meeting Room

The CT&FC will meet on Tuesday October 23 at the UNCC Track Meeting Room beginning at 5:00.  This meeting will include the nomination and election of the Board of Directors for 2008.  Anyone interested in serving on the Board or in providing input to the Board should attend, and all current and prospective members are invited.  Subjects such as new bylaws, finances, purchase of equipment, purchase of T-shirts, supporting UNCC’s track team, 2008 membership fees, the 2008 meet schedule, practice schedules, transportation to meets, and general promotion of the Club will be discussed.  We will get started on planning for the upcoming indoor season, and the 2008 outdoor season.

Club Practice Schedule for Saturday October 20 and October 27 Has Changed

Due to an event scheduled for the mornings of Saturday October 20 and 27 at the UNCC track, the Club practice will start at 2:00 on those dates.

Club Practice Schedule Saturdays at the UNCC Track

The regular Club practice schedule is 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the UNCC track.  Some members are also informally practicing on some weekday evenings from 5 to 7 p.m.  Rob Jackson is providing workout schedules and coaching for those looking for help with their training.  Some members are picking up new events for next year to add some diversity to their training and to set new goals.  The fall weather is perfect for training.  We hope to see you at the track!

Fall Club Party Was a Success

The Fall Club Party held on October 6 was enjoyed by all that attended, and we are happy to report that there were no new injuries at this non-competitive Club event.  The spouses were all encouraged to join the Club and start working out, but none have appeared on the membership list yet.

Club E-mail Distribution List to Be Revised

The next CT&FC e-News will only be distributed to those who joined the Club in 2007.  If you did not join in 2007 but you still want to receive the Club e-News, please let me know by reply to this e-mail.  The e-News will continue to be periodically (about monthly) posted on the Club website, which is accessible to anyone.

Posting of Field Implements for Sale/Needed

We have been asked to start posting implements (shot, discus, javelin, etc) for sale or needed by members.  Let us know what is in your garage or what you are looking for.
